REGULATION 18 - RULES OF MEN’S FIELD LACROSSE

18.01 Rules of play in Alberta shall be those of the World Lacrosse Men’s Field Rule Book for the current season. In order to ensure uniformity, there will be no variation of the World Lacrosse Rules and officials shall enforce World Lacrosse Rules with the following enhancements:

18.02 Men’s Field Playing Rules

a) The World Lacrosse Rules of Field Lacrosse apply.

b) The Lacrosse Canada Coaches Code and the Lacrosse Canada Coaching Philosophy for Field Lacrosse must be adhered to. Adherence to these Guidelines will be monitored and interpreted by the ALA Representative.

c) All games will start on time unless otherwise decided upon by the ALA Representative.

d) WARM UP: there will be a five (5) minute warm-up before game time.

e) Game Times: full games will be run consisting of 4-15 minute quarters with the exception of the U10 division which will be 2-25 minute halves; U8 and U6 which will be 2 - 15 minute halves.

f) Overtime: after a 5 minute rest, team will switch ends and the game will continue until the first sudden victory goal. Overtime periods will be 4 minute stop time periods with 2 minute rest in between

g) A game is considered complete if 80% of the game time has elapsed. h) An interrupted game will restart at the point of the interruption
